About SajuType

How the chart is calculated

Saju follows the solar calendar of 24 solar terms. SajuType converts your birth time to universal time using the time zone you pick, including historical daylight saving rules, then works out the sun's position with a shortened version of the VSOP87 planetary theory. Its solar-term times land within about a minute of published almanacs.

The saju year starts at Ipchun (입춘), when the sun reaches 315°, around February 4. Months change at the twelve major solar terms. The day changes at 23:00 local time, the start of the Rat hour, which is the traditional rule many Korean readers use. Some schools change the day at midnight instead, so charts for births between 23:00 and midnight can differ between sites.

Without a birth time, SajuType shows three pillars and leaves the hour pillar blank. If you were born on a day when the saju month changes, it tells you that your month pillar depends on the time.

Readings are for entertainment

Saju is a traditional system for reflection and conversation, not science. The readings here describe tendencies, not fate. Please don't use them to make medical, legal, financial or other important decisions.
